About Us

A Talent for Lying, Dublin

A Talent for Lying is a delight from start to finish, as warm and sweet for the soul as the great mugs of tea Lucy and Aidan cradle as their life together unravels across a gingham table cloth…The script’s intrigue is enough to capture the audience’s attention, with frothy dialogue and two charismatic performances adding to the piece’s utter charm. ”

Darren Yorke steals the show as Aidan, bringing the character to life with perfect timing [with] the power of Liam McCarthy’s beautifully naturalistic writing.

It departs from its naturalist surroundings - perfectly fitted for the wine bar environs of the gorgeous Chancery Lane venue - to imaginings of their lives together. McCarthy's scripts zips along to consider the preservation of ideas in art and, more hopefully, how artifice can push reality in certain directions.

PRESS

Paudie 2014, Bewley’s Café Theatre

This is a lovely mix of new works that highlights the fabulous talent that we have in this country. With more resources and bigger budgets all of these writers and companies would be household names. There was amazing potential here and I look forward to seeing what else comes from the pens of these exciting talents.
